100 Love Letters I'll Never Send (...away from me.) (c) 2018

In AA (Alcoholics Anonymous ) meetings you can find what ever you want and need. The only meeting we needed was Couples In Recovery. Afterwork, for about two weeks, it became part of Carmelita and my routine to go over for dinner at Serene and her man's house. There would be other couples their too. We'd play cards, have our own meetings on their back porch. The back porch  overlooked a great big pond, We'd watch the sunsets.  Their house was huge.

Afterwards, we'd get back home. Carmelita was happier than I had seen her for a while.

My work was going well. One day my old boss, MrsSanderson, did a suprise review. She came at the perfect time. I was entering into the building, after my lunch break. When one of our clients was leaving very angered. "I been with this company for over a decade! I can't believe how they treated me!" I over heard him on his cell phone.
"Mr. Smith, good to see you."
He mumbled some obscenities, "Yea, it's the last time I'll be here I'm taking all my money out!"
"What's wrong," I asked.
"Oh your secretary upstairs totally blew me off. Had me waiting for over a half hour! I'm a busy man I have no time for that!"
"Yea, I know what you mean Mr. Smith," I must have had a certain influential tone in my voice.
Before I knew it he was telling me all about how his son had gone wayward and abusing alcohol.

I took it as an opportunity, to tell him what I had learned from AA, with out giving away my anonymity. Even offered to talk to his son.

"You know I wish those jerks upstairs were as nice as you. People get money and their attitudes get all off kilter," Right after Smith said that Mrs. Sanderson was briskly leaving my work area, about to rip into me for being late.

"Well, you know Mr. Smith, we're all aloud to have a bad day."

"You know, you're right. I want you to work with me."
Mrs. Sanderson's expression immediately changed.

And for one time, I did the job I used to have. Managed to get the company a three hundred thousand dollar investment.

All I could think about was getting home and celebrating the good news with Carmelita.

But when I got home their was a letter on the den table. Instantly, my mind went bad. I thought it was a good bye note from Carmelita. I thought for a few seconds about calling my sponsor-then I read the letter. Carmelita was with Serene planning the big event.

I was hurt. I was jealous. I thought they were trying to take her away from me.

It was five o'clock. The next AA meeting started in 15 minutes.

And as soon as I sat down. My sponsor sat right next to me...
