Last to perform open mic #GroundZeroBluesClub #ClarksdaleMississippi because I suck so bad that even zombies hate the way I play guitar

I suck so bad that even zombies hate the way I play guitar.

“I am so ready,” type of thoughts were in my mind. My will was fed by theme songs (mixture of Metal and Country music cds) for about four hours from Nashville. I did my thing (spoken word with blues guitar slide) Surely, I’ll rock em tonight in Clarksdale Mississippi at the world famous #GroundZeroBluesClub. click here to read about Ground Zero Blues ClubCrossed over to that 2nd street took the winding road to 61

Thought I’d do the “Going To All The Wrong Places…” There will be an older crowd there.

I’m ready, I can hit those strings (with my left hand) and got the stroke (with my right hand) without looking at the guitar. With lyrical hooks like looking for a wife at the strip club, using a casino as a home and bank, and the chorus “Hows that working out for ya’ Not to good but it sure was fun. Cuzz going to all the wrong places for the right thing sure is fun”-Click here to check out my Nashville PerformanceI’m sure to make an impact. I’ll definitely be better than last yearclick here to see it from last year. Now I got a Dobro and slide and I been rocking the Gulf Coast, New Orleans, Jackson, and Nashville Tennessee.

Arrived at Ground Zero Blues Club early, around 7 pm. Oh no Steve Kolbus is hosting the open mic (open jams). I know that he’ll probably put me off. Regardless, I signed up. First one. “Your next,” he says over and over. I’m tired and angry. Was about to leave. NO-I came all this way. I ain’t gonna quit today probably not tomorrow either.

Why did he put me off? Because I can’t play with others. Also, I have destroyed my credibility by doing jams here that sucked (2009). Click here to see 2009 performance -Did it suck? You be the judge

He let this kid, Omar up. Omar Gordon is known throughout Clarksdale as being a bad ass guitar player. Kolbus introduces him, “…he’s a pupil of the Blues Museum.click here to see footage of kids learning Blues ” Well so am I Steve Kolbus. Truth is-when I went to learn I was an adult around kids catching onto the blue print of the Blues so easily. I couldn’t get it. Therefore, most days I would leave early, go back to my apartment and do my own riffs. I was so in love with myself playing the guitar. I had brain washed myself into thinking that I rocked (THAT’S A STORY FOR ANOTHER TIME).

I was the last one to make it to the stage. Only a few folks were left in the bar. I was so tired, I decided to do “Hit Dat Road.” Omar followed on drums. Did my performance suck-click here and see Thanx

Damn that felt bad.

Guess that I play so awful that not even zombies could bare it. That’s an idea that no one, that I know of has used. A guy gets fame and fortune by killing zombies when he plays guitar.

I did that months back in this e-book A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Souls (click here to buy)

Excerpt:
2015:
"Come on dude. Why you gonna give me your monkey business?"
"There's too many real, uh I mean..." I gave him the evil eye.
"I'll let you up there soon." He knew I'd wait. Picked up my acoustic guitar, that I got on the side of the street of a destroyed house-courtesy of Hurricane Katrina, I went outside to practice. I use my Kramer electric guitar to play on stage.
"With darkness descending the freaks came out. They come out at night," I mumbled. I was amused how the street lights shined on the  people causing them to look like they had pale skin; like zombies. I think I've had too much coffee and am having an acid flashback.
