#Artist Way "Are you going to live watching someone else's dream or live your own?" (C) 2021

The week long assignment of deprivation from  social media and internet movies is over. It was very necessary, and is synonymous with something I learned long ago. "Are you going to live watching someone else's dream or live your own?" Nineteen years ago, I went through the steps of The Artist Way. Currently, as of May 13, 2021, I am on the fifth week of The Artist Way. Things have changed since the first time I did the Artist Way, way back in 2002; I didn't have any books on Amazon Kindle. I didn't have this blog, that has over a 150,000 views. I didn't go to openmics to perform. I didn't know how to play a musical instrument. I didn't have a college degree. I didn't have a career of any kind. 

Applying the tools that I learned in The Artist Way laid the foundation for me to do all those things, and more.

In my creative process the Artist Way has helped me say more Yeses and say less Nos. I have also learned I never know what experiences will give me inspiration. The Artist Way is all about finding that part of yourself, that inner child. That part of yourself that believed in dreams before the adulting. The part that did things without emotional tyrannies.  For example, recently I took film of myself on a bridge. Then transferred the film into photos. Photos that got me many likes on facebook. The mature, no nonsense side protested with such quims as “You look foolish. You should worry about what others will say.” ...

 “Dude, look at the way you live Like in a hovel,” his friend Carlton told him about a year ago. At that time, he was living in a two-bedroom apartment. “…that’s more like a compartment. You really think you gonna attract any kind of female?” “What about you, living in that tin can?” Tin can was what he called Carlton’s trailer home. Carlton always seemed to have the right answer, “I don’t really care dude. You’re the one always talking about being alone.” Carlton said. Then took a sip of his beer. He had cleaned up a little bit. 100 Love Letters I'll Never Send (Neediness, emotional blackmail and such isn't conducive to a happy productive life.) (c) 2017

Mid 2017: (c) 2017 I have subjected myself to needless misery. In the past I have taken everything as personal insult. Why? I think I did it to protect myself from being hurt. Not too long ago, I criticized online dating. Now that I am on an online dating site I think I have broken through lies I have told myself. I wonder if anyone else has told themselves these lies: There's no one out there for me. Why does this always happen to me? Girls won't like me once they know the real me. I am discovering that people need people. I am going out with several different women and realize it's not a personal jab if we don't meet again. All it means is we just don't mesh well. I must look at women like I would friends. Neediness, emotional blackmail and such isn't conducive to a happy productive life. When I told myself such lies I acted out on them.
