100 Love Letters I'll Never Send (..You gotta Know...") (C) 2018

"What did you expect! You took me from home! TOOK ME AWAY FROM ALL I KNEW! MY FRIENDS! MY FAMILY! I WANTED A MAN! DIDN'T WANT TO BE ANYONE'S MOTHER!" She was screaming. I don't get it. Joshua, Carlton, Carmelita and I were playing cards. My father sent us all these new things for our den. Big table six chairs. Just in time for Joshua and Carlton. We played cards. Of course, Joshua brought his favorite adult beverage, Black Velvet. We were the ultimate team, ‘Team Carmelita’ “…verses. The Heathens!” Carlton exclaimed. Carmelita cleaned the apartment up nice. I spent hours cooking crawfish. At first she was all hospitable. Once again, she turned into someone else. Talking with big stories about her outlaw family. How they used to bet big, how they were part of the prohibition era. Carlton looked skeptical. He saw right through her story. Just kept his head down. He was planning his next move, singing lines from Kenny Rogers “The Gambler.”    "..k now when ...

100 Love Letters I'll Never Send (A Family Affair Part III) (c) 2018

All around the long Thanksgiving table at Mom's we sat. There were about thirteen of us. Most of them guest. There was talk over the table. Of course, good friends of my mom and step father were curious about the new guest; my love Carmelita. "Where did you grow up?" Then she'd tell these stories I did not recall ever knowing. She'd tell them about how she was a country girl raised on a farm. She eased herself so easily to win everyone's favor. Especially, talking about how great her mother was, and how much she looked up to her. When the questions seemed to feirse my sister would jump in to save her saying things like, "Ya'll gonna' scare her and she'll never come back," my sister would giggle a bit. So would Carmilita. By the end of our visit she won over everyone at the table. My mother even gave her a big hug, and a kiss on the cheek. Our next stop, 12:30 pm, "We're running late dear," we held hands to the...

Don't Write This Book II Literary Trailer (C) 2018 #DonaldTrump

Trump, had tears in his eyes at the press conference, “I was always fearful that the American people look at me like a monster...” “Jayson, they discovered that the man was possessed by a demon of lust that some call Asmodeus. The woman spread her majick to the rest of the female prisoners of the evil man. They performed a ritual…” “The ritual was to draw in another spirit that some would call the succubus…” “…the succubus's tricked asmodeus. And have been doing so ever since. The most amusing part is that Asmodeus is too cocky to realize it.” “…politicians speculate that the string of murders done by criminals wearing Donald Trump masks is an attempt by extremist democrats to stop Trump.” It targeted a specific group and didn’t even realize it: Mexicans, Women, Muslim, and Blacks. “You took a lot of time to put this all together…” “It’s all for you Stephen!” “No I couldn’t have done all of this.”

100 Love Letters I'll Never Send (Family Affairs Part II) (C) 2018

"Hey," my sister says as she's running to the car to greet us. I sigh. "Hello again Carmelita." "Hey Marly good to finally meet you. "Moms in the kitchen." "Oh good I have a gift for her." My mother Of course your relatives have to tell your girl the most embarrassing things about you to your girl. "Does he still wet the bed?" "No. Well maybe a little bit." "I think she's a keeper. Come on Carmelita I have some photos to show you." I roll my eyes at my sister. I hear them giggling. Can only imagine. "Oh hey," Carmelita comes in the kitchen with a gift wrapped box in her hand. It looked like one of those types of wrappings you pay for. Momma set the rolls she cooked on the counter. "Oh thanks," Momma looked at me then looked at Carmelita; then back to me. She sensed something was wrong. Or was she just being protective? She took the expensive necklace out of the box. Put i...

100 Love Letters I'll Never Send (Family Matters part I) (c) 2017

"So when do we get to meet your new girl friend?" "Never," i mumble incoherently into the phone, sounding more like a grown. "What?" My sister asked. I've always had a fear of bringing any girlfriends over to meet my family. Haven't talked to any relatives in months. They live about three hours away. I always thought that if any girlfriend of mine met my family it would totally be a deal breaker. "Who's that babe," Carmelita says excited. "It's just my sis..." Carmelita takes the phone out of my hands. "Oh great, uh huh," She giggles I leave the room fearing the worse. "Okay we'll see ya'll next Thursday."Carmelita hangs up the phone. "Girl I don't even know if I'll have off for Thanksgiving." "Of course you will. You work for those types of places." I was suspicious. Carmelita seemed too eager to meet my family. Couple hours later, Couples In Recovery A...

100 Love Letters I'll Never Send (...you have to save some for your self) (c) 2018

"I don't feel like it," she pulls the blanket over her head. "Come on baby it is 4:30 pm." "LEAVE ME ALONE!" I walked away. As I walked passed the bathroom, I noticed a bottle full of pills on the sink. Don't recall seeing that before. My cell phone rings. I don't recognize the number. Yet I answer anyway, "________ it's been a while. I just moved back into town. I want to catch up." "Wow, man it has been a while Joshua." Joshua and I talk for about twenty minutes as I drive to meet him. Joshua's a friend from my childhood. We used to do so much together. "When people talk about being around someone and giving your life to them. I think you have to save some for yourself. I thought about what I heard once, as well as, what I lived through. When you hang around one person and only that person all the time you eventually get tired of being around them. You go through that honey moon stage, all is great. Y...
