somethings about me I want to share with you

1. I use the name honea byrne as homage to my great grand parents Mattie Honea Richmond Byrne. There is no other honea byrne which makes it easy to find me.   When I perform music live I go by my birth name "Holmes." Holmes is my last name. When I write I go by the name "honea byrne."
2. I have a learning disability. Failed first grad. I was in sped classes for most of my school years. 
3. I was raised in Gulfport Mississippi in an upper white class neighborhood.
4. I was read a poem by my baby sitter when I was 2 years of age. I have been writing since I was in first grade. Currently I have a blog honea byrne with over 140,000 views http://www.honeabyrne.com/ , and 12 books self published on AmazonKindle https://www.amazon.com/honea-byrne/e/B009RYIORG . I have a youtube channel with over 300 videos, https://www.youtube.com/user/tonalised
5. Began working out at age 10.
6. I wear a chain around my neck as a way to be protected when I perform or am feeling fearful. The chain was my childhood dog’s chain, Brownie. He died shortly after returning home with his eye hanging out of his socket.
7. I was a third degree black belt in Taekwondo.
8. Ran away from home in late teen years.
9. Picked up dead bodies in US Army for four years. Was involved in fatality recovery at Pentagon 911.
10. Graduated college University Of Southern Mississippi May 13, 2005, at 28 years of age. Raised my gpa from 1.7 to a 3.3. Began college in 1993. Been teaching Special Education for 13 years.
11.  I was in Gulfport during Hurricane Katrina.
12. Lived in Clarksdale Mississippi for seven years. Took Blues guitar lessons briefly in Clarksdale Blues Museum. Started doing Openmics in Ground Zero Blues Club. Performed for about 6 months. Started performing at openmics again in 2013. Currently I average about 80 a year of open mic performances.
